Treason charges for Covid-19 conspiracy theorist
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Mandla Maxhiwane (58) appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of high treason and conspiracy to commit murder.
Maxhiwane was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly stalked some members from the Hawks with threatening messages and death threats.
Gauteng Hawks spokesperson Katlego Mogale says the 58-year-old also allegedly threatened to assassinate senior government officials, accusing them of lying about the existence of Covid–19 in the country.
"He also claimed responsibility for the death of the two DPCI (Hawks) during the recent Mahikeng heist.
"This case was postponed to the 25th of May, and he remains in prison with an additional charge of high treason," says Mogale.
