Updated | By Lindiwe Mpanza
Police have arrested three suspects in Boksburg after they were found in possession of drugs worth some R3 million.
The suspects were arrested by a multi-disciplinary narcotics team after leaving OR Tambo with the drugs in a car.
The three suspects were followed from the airport by members of the dog unit and were stopped in Boksburg North.
Police searched the suspects’ vehicle, and found a powdered substance, which is suspected to be heroine.
The police’s Brenda Muridili says the substance has been sent for testing.
“It cannot be ruled out but at this stage, investigations will determine whether the suspects are part of a syndicate and as to where the substance was coming from or transported from and where it was destined to go to.”
The suspects are expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrates Court soon where they will be facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
