Trollip deserves nothing from us - Malema

The uncomfortable relationship
between the Democratic Alliance (DA) and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) could be heading for the rocks.

Addressing scores of EFF supporters at the Standard Bank Arena in Johannesburg on Sunday, party leader Julius Malema said the party will “fold its arms” during a motion of no confidence in Nelson Mandela Bay mayor Athol Trollip.
"We are not divorcing the DA, we are not separating from the DA, we are folding our arms.”
Malema reiterated the party's intention to unseat Trollip.
"Trollip deserves nothing from us," Malema said.
This comes after the DA opposed the land expropriation motion in Parliament.

Malema is adamant that the party will only vote with the African National Congress (ANC) in the Nelson Mandela Bay metro if former deputy Finance Minister, Mcebisi Jonas, is the candidate.
On the land issue, Malema has warned banks that are allegedly giving white farmers mortgages in order to avoid land expropriation without compensation.
"They are going back to the banks to put their farms on a mortgage. They are now taking the money and giving the farms to the banks," says Malema.
The party launched its voter registration campaign at the weekend. Registration for the 2019 elections is set to begin next weekend.
