Truck crash leaves N3 closed
A crash involving two trucks led to the closure of the N3 towards Gauteng between Frankfort/Vrede and Roadside/Reitz interchanges on Friday morning.
N3 Toll Route spokesperson Thania Dhoogra-Chetty said the trucks caught alight.
“In the early hours of this morning around 5:30 am, we had a serious truck crash accident involving two heavy vehicles. It is affecting the entire northbound because the vehicles are currently on fire.
“All traffic is being accommodated using contraflow on the southbound carriageway.
“However, due to the nature of the incident we advise motorist to advise the area with caution and please be patient because we likely would have to delay.
Dhoogra-Chetty said no deaths or injuries have been reported.
"I don’t have any confirmation as to injuries at this stage. At the moment we are trying to get the scene and under control, but we are reporting that it is a serious crash incident because it’s too heavy vehicles on fire."
