A City of Tshwane firefighter has been shot and killed outside a fire station in Bronkhorstspruit, east of Pretoria.

She was shot and killed on Wednesday evening.
It is understood that the 59-year-old Sonia Mnguni had an appointment with someone outside the station.
Tshwane Emergency Services spokesperson Charles Mabaso says fellow firefighters heard gunshots just a few minutes after she had gone outside.
“After recovering from the shock and fear of the gunshots they heard, the crew went outside in search of her. Her body was discovered about 100 metres away from the fire station with multiple gunshot wounds. A paramedic certified her dead on the scene,” says Mabaso.
Mabaso says the unknown suspect fled the scene.
The motive of the killing is not known.
