Tshwane pastor to appear in court for attempted murder, poaching
Updated | By Neo Motloung
A well-known Tshwane pastor and two suspects are expected to appear in the Hoedspruit magistrate’s court on charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit illegal poaching.
This comes after the three were arrested outside Phalaborwa on the R40 road on Monday night.
Limpopo police spokesperson, Moatshe Ngoepe says the suspects were arrested after police received information relating to an illegal poaching criminal syndicate.
Ngoepe says a shootout ensued when the suspects refused to stop their vehicle when the police tried to stop them.
He adds one of the suspects was shot and arrested with the other two.
“During the arrest, the following items were recovered: one hunting rifle, one silencer, four live ammunition, knife, axe and one motor vehicle,” says Ngoepe.
Police investigations are continuing.
