In a media briefing on Tuesday evening, Chief Electoral Officer Sy Mamabolo said the infrastructure in some areas in Tshwane has an impact on the counting process.

“It depends on the number of people who participated and how long it takes to count the ballots, it also depends on the human factor as well as the infrastructure, you will recall that Tshwane at the North of the city has a lot of peri-urban places were infrastructure is not as so good. So, it takes time in those circumstances to complete the actual counting process.”

The number of completed municipalities now stands at 111 from a total of 257.
