Tshwane warns of water interruptions on Monday
Updated | By Anastasi Mokgobu
The City of Tshwane has warned residents to prepare for water supply interruptions on Women's Day.
The inconsistent supply of water to Rosslyn and Klerksoord Industrial areas is deu to a leak on the main pipeline.
Spokesperson Lindela Mashigo says the shutdown is necessary to repair the leakage.
“Earlier repairs did not provide a sustainable solution due to the condition of the pipe around the leak point. To permanently repair the leak, a portion of the existing pipe around the leak must be replacedwith a new one. To effect these repairs, the city is compelled to shut down water supply to the area.
“It is worth mentioning that this planned water shutdown is necessary in order for the repairs to be done and to ensure reliable as well as consistent water supply to the industrial area,” says Mashigo.
The shutdown is expected from 08h00 until 18h00.
