Tshwane Metro Police rescue woman kidnapped in well known restaurant area

Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) rescued a woman who had been kidnapped and robbed of her belongings in Brooklyn.
The incident happened along Hazelwood Street on Saturday.
The officers on patrol tried to stop a car after witnessing two gunmen forcing a woman into the vehicle.
However, the suspects sped off, leading to a police chase.
The suspects later stopped the car and escaped on foot, but one suspect was arrested.
TMPD Spokesperson Isaac Mahamba says the car had fake number plates and was reported stolen in Mamelodi.
"The female who was kidnapped confirmed to the officers that they robbed her of her cell phone and were forcing her to give them her banking details.
"The female notified the officers that the suspects thew a firearm out of the window. Inside the suspect's vehicle sets of number plates, 5 dummy rounds, and a firearm magazine was found."
The suspect is expected to appear in court on charges of kidnapping, armed robbery, possession of unlawful ammunition, a firearm magazine and a stolen vehicle.
