This comes after weeks of an outage which was caused by the breakdown of a pump at the Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Plant.

Tshwane spokesperson Selby Bokaba says a new pump and motor were successfully installed at the plant on Friday during the day, and pumping started in earnest at around 4pm.

"Tshwane kept to its commitment that it would take a few days for the system to recover and stabilise before full water supply is restored to all the areas in Region 7.

"Full supply has been restored in Ekangala and Rethabiseng, except in Rethabiseng Extension 4, due to the infrastructure network connection. The section will start receiving water once there is enough water pressure in the whole area."

High lying areas in the metro are also receiving water.
