Madlala, who has been on the witness stand for over 14 days in the trial, is a state witness against the five men accused of killing the late football star in 2014.

During his testimony this week, legal representative for accused number five, Adcocate Zandile Mshololo accused Madlala of compromising the highly publicised case by taking part in a Netflix documentary on Meyiwa.

However, Madlala denied this when he was re-examined by state prosecutor Advocate George Baloyi.

He told the court the makers of the documentary did not tell him when it would be flighted.

“Advocate Mshololo questioned you on the Netflix documentary and you were asked if you did not think that it might be that your participation in the documentary might be prejudicial for the case as it was pending. Now the question is this, did the makers tell you when it would be aired,” asked Baloyi.

“No, they did not inform me about when it would be aired,” responded Madlala.

The issue of the Netflix documentary on Senzo Meyiwa’s life has been in the spotlight this week.

Earlier this week, advocate for accused numbers one to four, TT Thobane, told court that Meyiwa’s mother was paid R250 000 for participating in it.

However, Madlala has in court evaded the question on how much he was paid, choosing to remain mum.
