TUT classes suspended
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The Tshwane University of Technology announced on Wednesday morning that classes will again be suspended as a result of protest action.
TUT spokesperson, Willa de Ruyter confirmed that management decided to suspend classes after students barricaded the gates to the university's Pretoria West and GaRankuwa campuses.
"Protest action erupted at TUT's Pretoria West and GaRankuwa campuses today and after assessing the situation at both campuses we advised staff and students to go home for the remainder of the day," de Ruyter told Jacaranda FM News.
She also said that they will post regular updates on the university's website as they continue to monitor the situation.
Earlier this week de Ruyter said they would continue classes today after suspending lectures on Monday due to information received from various student organisations that they would continue with disruptions.
De Ruyter says the situation is not conducive for academic activities to resume.
