Two arrested for diesel theft at Matimba power station

Two men have been arrested for the possession of stolen diesel.
The police in Limpopo says the two were arrested after being caught red-handed stealing diesel at Matimba power station in Lephalale on Monday.
Police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba said the crime intelligence and K9 units were roped in to assist.
"The team reacted swiftly to the information whereby the suspect was traced. He was tracked subsequentlyand accosted while driving a grader machine out of the power station into the nearby bush.
"He drained the diesel into 25 litre containers and loaded them into motor vehicle, which was found parked in the veld with one occupant, a 57-year-old male."
Ledwaba said the police managed to recover the diesel.
"The police recovered diesel worth R9 000, and seized the vehicle with an estimated value of R20 000, and confiscated six 25 litre, one 20 litre and and two 10 litre drums full of diesel which were found hidden in the bush."
The suspects are expected to appear in the Lephalale Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
The will face charges of theft and possession of suspected stolen diesel.
