Two arrested for reckless driving

Two men were arrested for alleged drunken and reckless driving on Sunday, Johannesburg metro police said.

The men's Audi A4 was stopped by officers on the N1 driving at 199km/h in a 120km/h zone, Inspector Edna Mamonyane said.
The men then sped off and metro police gave chase.
On the N1, N12 split near Diepsloot, the Audi driver manoeuvred between vehicles, hitting a white VW Polo which was in the right-hand lane.
The Polo's driver then lost control, with the car rolling several times and landing on the barricade.
A woman passenger in the Polo sustained serious injuries but the driver was not injured. The two men were also not injured.
"They refused to tell the officers who was driving. They were both drunk," Mamonyane said.
The men, aged 32 and 22, were expected to appear in court soon.
