Police in Gauteng have rescued two businessmen who were hijacked and kidnapped in Midrand on Monday.

According to police, the two men were abducted on the premises of a car rental company by suspects driving a silver or grey Hyundai i10.
"The criminals forced the victims into their vehicle and transported them to a secluded bushy area along the R21 highway", said national police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe.
"There, the businessmen were reportedly coerced into handing over their bank cards and PINs, which the kidnappers used to withdraw large sums of money.
"The two men were eventually located and safely rescued from dense bushland, visibly shaken but unharmed. Their hijacked SUV Range Rover was later found abandoned in Tembisa."
Mathe said police have since launched a manhunt for the suspects.
"These kidnappers evaded arrest and are said to be utilising a Hyundai i10 to commit their crimes. Citizens are urged to be alert and those who have information are encouraged to come forward to assist police investigations."
