Two dead, seven injured in Gauteng crash
Updated | By ANA
Two people died and at least seven others were injured in a four-car pile-up in Barrage Road in Vanderbijlpark late on Saturday night, Gauteng paramedics said.
“When ER24 paramedics arrived on [the] scene they found that one patient had already succumbed to their injuries. Two others were critical, and the remaining patients had injuries ranging from moderate to critical,” ER24 spokesman Pieter Rossouw said on Sunday.
“Unfortunately one of the critical patient’s vital signs deteriorated on [the] scene and was later declared dead. ER24 treated and transported one critically injured patient to Mediclinic Emfuleni for urgent treatment. The remaining patients were treated and transported by other medical services on [the] scene.”
The cause of the accident was unknown, and local authorities were on the scene for investigations, Rossouw said.
