Two die after trucks collide, catch alight
At least two people sustained fatal burn injuries when two trucks collided and caught alight on the N8 between Bloemfontein and Kimberley on Thursday morning.
ER24 paramedics said when they arrived at the scene, about 20km from Bloemfontein, they found the trucks still alight.
Fire and Rescue Services personnel had already arrived and were extinguishing the fire.
“It was confirmed that there were two people who sustained burn injuries. Sadly there was nothing that could be done for them.
Authorities are on scene. It cannot be confirmed at this state if there were any other fatalities on scene,” said Chitra Bodasing
