Two die in head-on collision in KwaZulu-Natal
Two men were killed when their car collided head-on with a truck in Newcastle, authorities said on Tuesday.
ER24 spokesman Russell Meiring said that when paramedics arrived at the accident scene on Monday night they found one of the men in the car and another lying nearby.
“Unfortunately nothing more could be done for the patients and they were declared dead on scene,” said Meiring.
The truck driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
A KwaZulu-Natal Road Traffic Inspectorate spokeswoman confirmed the accident and said that authorities were investigating.
She said the accident happened at the Amajuba offramp of the N11 in Newcastle.
