Two injured in David Mabuza motorcade crash

Police are investigating the circumstances of a car crash involving two cars in Deputy President David Mabuza's motorcade.
There was a collision involving the cars on the N1 between the Allandale and New Road in Midrand on Wednesday night.
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says the deputy president was not in any of the vehicles.
"Two members attached to the deputy president's security detail sustained minor injuries and were transported to a Johannesburg hospital for further medical checkups. Only the deputy president's motorcade was involved in the collision.
"We can confirm that the deputy president was not in any of the vehicles at the time of the accident. The injured members were later cleared and discharged from the medical facility."
Last night ANC treasurer Paul Mashatile confirmed that Mabuza could not attend the party's gala dinner due to other commitments.
The party will hold its national policy conference in Nasrec this weekend.
