A man and two women have been injured in a robbery at a jewellery shop at a mall in Boksburg, east of Johannesburg.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Juanita Coetzer, they were called to the East Rand Mall and found that 8 armed men had robbed a jewellery store.
"Some of the employees were slightly injured and the robbers got away," she said.
Police are searching for the suspects. There is no clarity as to what exactly the suspects had stolen.
"We are still trying to determine what exactly had been stolen but they smashed the display cases in the shop and got away with the jewellery," Coetzer told Jacaranda FM News.
According to ER24 paramedics they treated two patients for minor injuries and transported them to hospital.
"Paramedics assessed a man and two women and found that they had sustained minor injuries. Fortunately, no other serious or fatal injuries were reported on the scene," they said.
