Two matrics die in Mpumalanga house fire

Two matric learners, aged 18 and 21, died when a house went up in flames in Pine Ridge near Witbank on Monday.
Community members managed to rescue their mother after they were alerted by screams.
However, the two boys could not be reached in time.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson Leonard Hlathi says residents told officials the house went up in flames shortly after power was restored to the area.

"According to the residents, there was an outage in terms of electricity and when it returned they saw smoke and fire coming from this particular house.
"They managed to only salvage the life of the mother who is currently fighting for her life in the hospital."
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
