Two men arrested for smuggling 59 people into the country

Two truck drivers have been arrested in Limpopo for allegedly smuggling 59 people into the country.
A crime intelligence operation together with the Hawks led to the arrest of Idrisa Yusuf Mussa (39) and Danison Prahima (39).
"Police intercepted two suspicious trucks parked on the road near Marble Hall. While conducting a search of the two trucks, police were shocked to discover 59 Malawian migrants whom amongst others include nine females of which two are minors and the rest are adult males. The 59 migrants were found crammed at the back of the truck some in a dire state suffering from dehydration," the police said in a statement.
Some of the people were found with counterfeit passports.
The two men were arrested on 28 July 2016 and appeared in the Marble Hall Magistrate Court on Friday for human smuggling. They are set to appear again on Tuesday for a formal bail application.
"All the migrants will be charged for being in the country illegally and are expected to appear in the Marble Hall Magistrate Court on 01 August 2016."
Police investigation continues.
