Updated | By Lonwabo Miso
Two men have been found guilty of murder, rape, and robbery, in the Johannesburg High Court sitting in Palm Ridge, The Star reported on Wednesday.
Kyle Fredericks and Shinawaaz Ahmento, both aged 21, would be sentenced on Wednesday by acting Judge Louis Vorster for murdering, raping, and robbing Tracey-Lee Martins.
In April last year, the two broke into Martins's home in Klipspruit West to rob her so they could get money for drugs, the paper reported.
Ahmento raped Martins while she was in bed, then robbed her. He was a frequent visitor at the house, the paper reported. Fredericks strangled Martins with socks then threw the socks down a drain.
Martins's son, who was aged three at the time, and his 74-year-old grandmother were also at the house at the time. Ahmento strangled the older woman, who survived the attack, before robbing her as well.
The two then fled the scene, the paper reported.
