Two people killed in Florida shooting
Gauteng police have launched a manhunt for three suspects who allegedly shot and killed two people and wounded six others in an open veld in Florida on the West Rand on Thursday night.
Gauteng police spokesrperson Kay Makhubele says it is understood that the three armed suspects, who were wearing balaclavas, waited in an open veld next to an old mine shaft in Florida.
"A group of eight Basotho nationals who were from the taxi to the old mine shaft met three other Basotho nationals who pointed them with firearms, robbed them from cash and cell phones, then shot all eight zama zamas."
Two people died on the scene and the other six were transported to hospital.
