Two suspected poachers arrested in Limpopo

Police have arrested two suspects for poaching and
possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition on Wednesday.
Limpopo police spokesperson, Moatshe Ngoepe, says the suspects aged between 31 and 37, were arrested at different locations during a joint sting operation.
He adds the operation was made up of various Police Units, the Private Security and Farmers and conducted around Rankin's Pass outside Modimolle and Vaalwater.
"One vehicle, two rhino horns, one hunting rifle with a silencer, eight rounds of ammunition and an axe were recovered," says Ngoepe.
Police are still searching for two other suspects who are on the run.
The two arrested are expected to appear before the Vaalwater and Modimolle Magistrate courts soon, says Ngoepe.

"The arrested suspects are the mastermind behind a rhino syndicate," says Hawks spokesperson Dineo Sekgotodi. Two horns, vehicles and cash were seized during an operation by the elite crime-fighting unit in Johannesburg on Thursday. The Chinese and two Taiwanese nationals were detained at the Kempton Park police station.
