A 17-year-old teenager will appear in the Lichtenburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday in connection with the murder of another 17-year-old at a farm in Biesiesvei on Saturday, North West police said.
The suspect and the victim, who were both employed at the farm, allegedly had a fight over a R10 note during a game of dice, Captain Paul Ramaloko said in a statement on Sunday.
“The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim to death with a pair of scissors, on his neck. Police were called and the suspect was arrested. Police investigations continue,” he said.
In another unrelated incident, Rustenburg police were investigating a case of murder after a 24-year-old suspect with a knife stabbed a 30-year-old victim in his left ear on Saturday at a Maanrand Zuurplaat plot.
“It is alleged that… the deceased and the victim had an argument that led [to] the suspect stabbing the deceased. The motive of the attack is unknown at this stage. Police were called to the scene and the suspect was arrested,” Ramaloko said.
The investigation was continuing and the suspect would appear in the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a charge of murder, he said.
