Two burnt bodies found under a bridge near Middleburg
Mpumalanga police have recovered two burnt bodies from under a bridge on the R575 Road near Middelburg on Thursday.
Police are now investigating whether these deaths are linked to an incident that took place in the Somaphepha area near Laersdrift, situated just outside Middleburg in August.
Police spokesperson Donald Mdhluli says this was when the two victims were reported missing, after they were allegedly caught stealing livestock on the farm.
The bodies were found close to where the VW Golf vehicle, suspected to be that of one of the victims, was found torched.
"These new developments came after the court appearance of the suspects for kidnapping and assault.
"Two counts of murder could possibly be added against the suspects as the investigation continues. "
They appeared in the Middelburg Magistrates Court on Thursday.
