An Uber driver has died after his vehicle was petrol bombed in Pretoria.
The driver succumbed to his injuries more than a month after the attack outside Loftus Versfeld.
His vehicle had been petrol bombed outside the stadium at 20:00 on 11 June, police confirm.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubele says: "The man who had been attacked died this morning. We are going to change the case from attempted murder to murder and malicious damage to property and our investigation continues."
No arrests have yet been made.
Several Uber drivers have been targeted in Pretoria over the last two months.
An Uber driver had been hijacked and assaulted in Hatfield on 4 July.
Three suspects had also been arrested after an Uber vehicle was set alight on Jeff Masemola Street in the Pretoria city centre on 6 July.
Makhubele says police are investigating whether these suspects can be linked to other attacks on Uber drivers in the capital city.
"We are doing our best to link and test whether these suspects are connected with the other incidents. Our investigation is ongoing."
