UDM, COPE opposing state capture application

It's a challenging last day ahead for Public Protector Thuli Madonsela with all eyes on the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.
Cooperative Governance Minister Des Van Rooyen is expected to bring an urgent application this morning relating to the state capture saga.
The minister wants to interdict Madonsela from releasing her preliminary report on this matter.
President Jacob Zuma indicated that he will apply for an urgent interdict against the release of the report yesterday.
That will be heard in the High Court in Pretoria next week.
Bantu Holomisa says his UDM will contest the minister's application together with COPE and the EFF.
"We feel that Zuma and Des van Rooyen are out of order, because they were given plenty of time to respond to this investigation. There is a need to publish this report. It's in the public interest. This issue of state capture has long been doing the rounds in this country. We need to have finality on it," Holomisa said.
Cope leader Mosiuoa Lekota says it's a matter of national importance.
"This thing of interdicting the Public Protector from completing her job...there seems to be an attempt to prevent her from doing so, so that whatever she may have done or written may be changed when she has gone out of office," Lekota said.
The DA has also indicated that it will oppose the application for an interdict.
