UN says $1.0 billion needed to fight Ebola

Nearly $1.0 billion dollars is needed to fight the Ebola outbreak raging in west Africa, the United Nations said Tuesday, more than doubling its estimate of less than a month ago.
UN humanitarian chief Valerie Amos told reporters in Geneva there was a "huge funding challenge", and a need for a massive international push to end the outbreak that has killed 2,461 people to date. - AFP
