Unemployment highest among young people - Stats SA

Young people are suffering the most when it comes to finding employment.

Statistics South Africa released the results of the quarterly labour force survey for the 2nd quarter.
It reveals that the unemployment rate remains unchanged at 27.7%
South Africa has over 37 million people of working age.
Of that number 6.2 million are unemployed.
Stats SA general Pali Lehohla says young people remain vulnerable - with an unemployment rate of almost 56%.
The largest employment losses were recorded in Gauteng and the Eastern cape.
Construction and agriculture produced the largest job losses - with a loss of 40 000 in agriculture alone.
