Police have opened an inquest docket after the body of an unknown man, was found floating off shore from the Umgeni River Mouth yesterday.

Craig Lambinon who's with the National Sea Rescue Institute, says that Police Divers from Durban Search and Rescue were called out to recover the body.
Lambinon says the body was beyond recognition.
"NSRI Durban were activated by the Transnet National Ports Authority following reports from a fishing ski boat that there was a body of a man floating in water.
"Police accompanied the NSRI aboard a sea rescue craft and on arrival on shore the body was handed over to the care of forensic pathology services," he said.
