UNION: 'Some engineers at Eskom are unreliable'
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) says that there are engineers employed at Eskom who are unreliable.
This comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa claimed that there has been "a measure of sabotage" behind the latest loadshedding that suddenly escalated to stage 6 on Monday.

In his reaction, NUM President Joseph Montisetse says the president's claims of sabotage are justified.
"The report that the president has given to the nation is a report which he got from the executive management and the board of Eskom. So, we do not have any view of opposing what the president is saying."
"Some of the engineers are not reliable and this management cannot even identify people that are causing problems," adds Montisetse.
He urges government to not make light of the allegations of sabotage at the embattled State Owned Entity (SOE) and institute an investigation.
"We are calling for the president to establish a commission of inquiry about what he says about sabotage, so that the people who are responsible can be actually taken to task."
"That will then show to the nation that indeed there was sabotage, we cannot just accept the word sabotage," says Montisetse.
