Union unhappy with health, safety at Dis-Chem warehouse
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
The National Union of Public Service and Allied Workers (Nupsaw) says it is waiting for test results from health inspectors around the health and safety of employees at a Dis-Chem warehouse.
The union is up in arms following reports that 10 people had tested positive for Covid-19 at the company’s Midrand warehouse and that workers are expected to pay for their own testing.

The union staged a picket outside the warehouse on Monday.
Nupsaw spokesperson Kagiso Makoe says they are not surprised that Dis-Chem management continues to defend their health and safety protocols.
"We are waiting the health inspectors to come give us positive feedback on whether Dis-Chem was abiding or not.
"We want to make sure that the whole area is fumigated and we want to make sure that the biometric system is suspended for now.”
