Unit 4 at Kusile back on the grid - Ramokgopa
Electricity Minister Kgosientso Ramokgopa on Sunday confirmed the return of Unit 4 at Kusile power station.
Ramokgopa said the unit is finally back on the grid and fully operational.
The unit was taken out on a 20 day-outage for planned maintenance.
Ramokgopa gave an update on the performance of the electricity grid on Sunday after a week of stage 5 and 6 load shedding.
Ramokgopa said Unit 4 had to be switched off when the country entered the warm seasons in September.
He said it is difficult for some of the units to perform during warm conditions.
"Unit 4 we took it out as a result of planned maintenance and committed that it will come back on the 17th of September, which is today.
"I am happy to announce to the country that Unit 4 is back," said Ramokgopa.
