United Airlines apologises for forcibly removing passenger
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
The boss of US airline United Airlines has apologised after a man was forcefully dragged along the plane's aisle by law enforcement officers.
"I want you to know that we take full responsibility and will make it right," CEO Oscar Munoz wrote on Twitter.
The airline has been under pressure since the video of the incident went viral. In his first apology, Munoz described the passenger as "disruptive and belligerent" - remarks that came in for scathing criticism.
"The truly horrific event that occurred on this flight has elicited many responses from all of us: outrage, anger, disappointment. I share all of those sentiments, and one above all: my deepest apologies for what happened," Munoz wrote.
