University of Limpopo to reopen on Wednesday
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Lectures at the University of Limpopo are expected to resume on Wednesday.
The institution closed its doors after students disrupted academic activities, as part of the Fees Must Fall movement.
University vice chancellor Mahlo Mokgalong said the majority of students and staff have indicated they are in favour of classes resuming.
"The exams will be shifted. We intend on engaging the students and make them understand there are certain demands of theirs that is beyond the control of the university," he said. "Coming to harp on the university to address these demands is senseless."
Last week, students were ordered to vacate their residences when the institution shut down on Wednesday 28 September - many were left stranded with no money to make the journey home.
Stranded students were forced to take refuge at local churches.

Additional security will not be deployed to campus, he confirmed.
Three students were arrested last week.
The charges against them were later dropped due to a lack of evidence, police said.
