‘Valve tampering’ leads to lack of water in Ekangala
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The City of Tshwane has confirmed that a valve in Ekangala, which has been tampered with, has led to delays in the restoration of water supply in the area.

This comes after the Department of Water and Sanitation observed a decrease in pressure and, ultimately, a lack of water supply in the area on Monday morning.
The valve is supposed to regulate and control the water flow to Ekangala and Rethabiseng.
These are the two areas that were affected by the Bronkhorstspruit water treatment plant woes over the past few weeks.
"The mechanism has since been lifted, and the water pressure is expected to increase,” said the city’s spokesperson, Lindela Mashigo.
"The city would like to send out a strong warning to those tampering with its infrastructure that such actions border on criminality, and if caught, they will be arrested and prosecuted.”
