Vavi back in court for speeding offence
Updated | By ANA
Former Cosatu secretary-general Zwelinzima Vavi will on Tuesday appear in the Edenvale Magistrate’s Court for speeding.
Vavi, who was driving an Audi Q7, was arrested by Metro Police in October after he allegedly clocked 207km per hour on the R24 freeway near Edenvale in the Ekurhuleni area. The speed limit on the busy road is 120km.
The former secretary-general of Cosatu was arrested for the alleged traffic offence a week after he led a march against corruption in Pretoria. The marches took place simultaneously in Durban and Cape Town as well.
Vavi is out on R1000 bail.
