Venue was too full for Ramaphosa to address lecture, says ANC

The African National Congress (ANC) and its women’s league says President Cyril Ramaphosa was immediately removed from a venue in Lebowakgomo on Thursday where he was scheduled to deliver the Lilian Ngoyi Lecture.
The lecture is part of the ANC’s 110 birthday celebrations.
The party says the venue was over its Covid-19 limit of attendees and had to be canceled.
Under adjusted level 1 regulations, 1000 people are allowed in a venue and over 2000 outside.
“We have as the ANC drawn the necessary lesson from of the need to tighten access control into our events, to avoid the possibility of them becoming super spreaders,”
The party says a new date will be set for the lecture.
