Veteran actor Shadrack Ngema dies

President Jacob Zuma has sent his condolences to the family of veteran actor Shadrack Ngema who has died, the Presidency said.
In a statement issued late on Sunday night, Zuma said: “South Africa has lost a familiar voice and face in the arts industry. He was a very talented and popular actor and comedian who brought laughter and joy to our people. He will be sorely missed.”
Ngema, 65, the well known actor, loved for his role as a traditional healer, Magubane, in the SABC 1 drama, Emzini Wezinsizwa, died on Saturday after a short illness.
Ngema’s death comes a few weeks after his colleague on the same show, Roland Mqwebu, 75, who played the role of Mkhize, died from a heart attack.
Zuma sent his condolences to Ngema’s family, saying: “We wish to convey our deepest condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.”
