Vicki Momberg to appear in court for racist rant
The National Prosecuting Authority has confirmed that estate agent, Vicki Momberg, will appear in court in July.
Momberg was captured on video hurling racist insults at police after she had been involved in a smash-and-grab incident in Northriding, Johannesburg in February.
NPA spokesperson Phindi Louw says: "She has been charged with crimen injuria. She is due to appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on the 13th of July. She was served with a summons on Thursday."
The South African Human Rights Commission launched an own-initiative investigation after the video went viral on social media.
It is now taking Momberg to the Equality Court, it confirmed.
