VIDEO: Crash happens during Comrades
Updated | By Charis Apelgren
Video cameras stationed along the Comrades Marathon route have captured dramatic footage of a car accident that happened during the race.

Netcare 911's Chris Botha says the accident happened in the vicinity of 45th Cutting, along the M13 Comrades route yesterday.
He says three people were injured in the accident, one of them seriously. All three were taken to hospital.
The footage from the SABC's live broadcast of the Comrades shows a white sedan slamming into the road barrier and spectators leaping out of the way.
The car very nearly flips over, before coming to a rest facing side-on into the road. The driver and passengers are then seen getting out, as Comrades spectators crowd around the crash scene.
According to the clock on the live stream, the incident happened about seven-and-a-half hours into the race.
Botha says the accident would have been much worse had it not been for the concrete barrier that stopped the car from skidding into the Comrades race lane.
