VIDEO: Langlaagte miners recover bodies of their loved ones
Updated | By Maryke Vermaak
A group of illegal mine workers decided to continue rescue efforts at an abandoned mine in Langlaagte on Tuesday night after emergency services called off the operation.

Miners recovered the bodies of two of their colleagues deep inside the unused mine after the so-called Zama-Zamas got trapped in the mine a week ago when a fire broke out underground resulting in the deaths of 3 people.
Yesterday afternoon the group of illegal miners started with their recovery operation and after 8 hours their friends were recovered.
The persistence by families, that the search and rescue operation continue, was justified when the bodies of Sibangani Tsikwa and Njabulo Sibanda were brought to the surface by fellow illegal miners.
Crying family members sat with the bodies of their loved ones until the mortuary collected the remains of the miners.
A family member of one of the deceased has lashed out at the government saying the Minister of Mineral Resources, Mosebenzi Zwane addressed the media and not the people who worked in the abandoned mine.
"He came in here like a pop star and spoke to the media, failing to address workers and family members," the family member told Jacaranda FM News.
