According to reports police have launched an investigation into an unknown active shooter after two journalists from a CBS station, WDBJ, were shot and killed on Wednesday morning during a live broadcast in Virginia.
AFP reports that shots are heard in footage taken by the WDBJ cameraman Adam Ward before he dropped to the ground. Ward and reporter Alison Parker were killed.
"We do not know the motive. We do not know who the suspect or who the killer is," Marks said, adding the shooter was still at large.
AFP also reported that the woman who was interviewd was believed to have been wounded.
Virginia state police were working with local authorities to capture the gunman, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe said on Twitter.
CNN reported that police had a image of the man, but it was unclear. They are also reportedly in possession of the shooter's name and vehicle registration number.
