Voëlklip tragedy: Elderly woman dies in hospital
Updated | By AlgoaFM News
Western Cape police are now investigating a case of murder following the death of a woman who was shot at a local lookout point in Herold's Bay at the weekend.

The woman died after she was shot in the head, allegedly by her husband.
Police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie says the woman and her husband, who were both in their 70s, were both found with gunshot wounds to the head at Voëlklip on Sunday afternoon.
The man died at the scene while his wife was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
She subsequently succumbed to her injuries.
Pojie says it is believed that the couple walked from their home in Herold's Bay to the lookout point, where the husband shot his wife before turning the gun on himself.
A preliminary investigation suggests that the husband first shot his wife and then himself.
The couple's son requested that his parents' names be withheld from the media.
