Vodacom: System error to blame for data depletion
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
Vodacom has apologised to customers who have seen their data and airtime vanish.
Vodacom’s spokesperson, Byron Kennedy, says the issues were caused by an error in their system.
“The technical team is working hard to solve the billing issues experienced on the network. Customers are being reimbursed as we speak.”
Many customers claim to have bought data only to receive a data depletion notification just moments later. Some have also complained of disappearing airtime.
“We hope that the process will be completed during the course of the morning. The issue is a once-off system error which was isolated and rectified. We also making sure that this never happens again,” says Kennedy.
Vodacom cannot confirm how many of its customers have been affected.
