Updated | By Nokukhanya Mntambo
The community of Vuwani in Limpopo has accused police of detaining one of its leaders, Arnold Mulaudzi, without cause.
According to the Pro-Makhado resident’s association’s Alex Ndou, Mulaudzi is believed to have been taken in by the police late on tuesday night.
The police’s Brigadier Motlafela Majapelo has however said Mulaudzi has not been arrested.
"They [residents] want to know where is Arnold,” says Ndou.
"We hope and believe that the police will be honest with us, they will tell us where he is, what kind of charges they have imposed on him."
Members of the community gathered at the Vumai police station on Wednesday hoping to address officials on the whereabout of Mulaudzi.
They had already resolved not to vote in the national and provincial elections.
