Vuwani leaders say they will not meet with government

Vuwani community leader Nsovo Sambo on Wednesday said traditional leaders would not meet with government following last week's protest which saw more than 20 schools torched.
A meeting has been scheduled for Thursday between government and traditional councils.
Sambo says government has been given a chance to attend to the matter and failed.
"We are not willing to incline their ears onto our grievances. So, even today we are saying we are not be meeting with them. We are not part of that particular meeting, because we do believe that there are ongoing engagements with the king and the president, so we are still waiting for the response which will come from the king and the senior traditional leaders," Sambo said.
Protests flared up in Vuwani earlier with police firing rubber bullets to disperse a protesting crowd.
