Warm to hot weather to continue through the week
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) says sunny, warm, and dry weather currently experienced over the interior of the country is expected to continue into the weekend.
The Weather Service forecasts that the mercury will stay high through the week, with areas like the Mpumalanga Lowveld where residents can even expect hot, summer weather.
The predicted warmer temperatures come after unseasonably cold weather over parts of the country last month.
Forecaster Tokelo Chiloane says there could be cooling down after Friday.
"It looks like over the weekend, we might have something that will cool temperatures in the Mpumalanga and Limpopo Lowvelds, but so far we are going to be consistent with warm and hot temparatures.
"It's not unusal for us to have theses types of temperatures during this time of the year, however we were expecting temperaures to slightly drop since we are moving to winter. However, our seasonal forecast did say that we might be expriencing above normal temperatures in the Autmn season."
